Chad Chronister is the Sheriff of Hillsborough County, Florida, home of the major Florida city of Tampa. Sheriff Chronister’s Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has entered into a 287(g) agreement with ICE (along with all other Florida county sheriff’s offices), and ICE has had a huge presence in the area, due to the collaboration with Chronister and his “Team HCSO” (as they call themselves). Chronister was once considered by President Donald J. Trump as a nominee to run the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), but allegedly withdrew his name from consideration, but President Trump said he “pulled” his name from the nomination.
